Setting Up Apple Mail (Mac)

Quick setup for Mail on your Mac. Have your full email address and your mailbox password ready (the mailbox password, not your control panel password).

Quickest: install the settings file

Do this on the Mac itself.

1. In Safari, sign in to the control panel at system.atriomail.com, open Email Mailboxes and click the mailbox.
2. Click Set up on iPhone, iPad or Mac at the top of the page and allow the download. The file lands in Downloads.
3. Open the file, then open System Settings → General → Device Management (macOS 13 Ventura: Privacy & Security → Profiles), double-click the profile and click Install. macOS notes that the profile is not signed; that is expected, the file is generated for your mailbox and carries no signature.
4. Enter your mailbox password when asked. The file does not contain it.
5. Open Mail: your mailbox is there.

Add the account by hand

1. Open Mail app
2. Mail → Add Account
3. Select Other Mail Account
4. Enter name, email, password
5. Click Sign In
6. Mail does not find the settings for your domain by itself; when it asks for them, enter the ones below.
7. Click Done

Server settings

Enter these, using your full email address as the user name:

• Incoming (IMAP): mail.atriomail.com, port 993, SSL/TLS
• Outgoing (SMTP): mail.atriomail.com, port 587, STARTTLS

Get Settings: they are also on the Dashboard, in the Connect your mail client card. The file and these settings belong to the panel you sign in to: if your mailboxes come from a company with its own control panel address, use that panel, and its server name.

Testing

Send a test email to yourself to check that the account sends and receives.
