How to Create Email Aliases
Email aliases let you receive emails at multiple addresses without creating separate mailboxes. Perfect for organizing your inbox!
Why Use Email Aliases?
- 📧 Organize emails by purpose (sales@, support@, info@)
- 🎭 Keep your main email private

- Fill in the form:
- Alias address: The email you want to create (e.g., sales@yourdomain.com)

- Active: Check this box

Managing Your Aliases
Edit an Alias
- Go to Email Aliases
- Click the alias you want to edit
- Change the forwarding address or status
- Click "Save changes"
Delete an Alias
- Find the alias in your list
- Click the delete icon (trash can)
- Confirm deletion
Advanced: Multiple Destinations
An alias delivers to one mailbox, chosen in the "Forward to" field. To send one address to several recipients, create a forwarder under Email Forwarders instead: a forwarder can list more than one destination address. Like an alias, it needs at least one mailbox on the same domain.
Troubleshooting
Not Receiving Emails
- Check if the alias is active
- Verify the forwarding address is correct
- Check your spam folder
- Make sure the destination mailbox isn't full
Can't Create Alias
- Verify the email address doesn't already exist
- Check you have permission to create aliases
- Make sure the same domain has at least one mailbox (a mailbox on a different domain does not count)
- An alias cannot use the same address as an existing mailbox
Best Practices
- ✅ Use descriptive names (sales, support, info)
- ✅ Create aliases before sharing them publicly
- ✅ Delete unused aliases to stay organized
- ✅ Use filters to organize incoming emails
- ❌ Don't create too many - keep it manageable
